The beautiful Austin Museum of Art at Laguna Gloria.
The grounds of Laguna Gloria have delighted visitors for close to 100 years. Stephen F. Austin once owned the property, which he described as being “on the Colorado at the foot of the mountains.”
Clara Driscoll and her husband, Hal Sevier, the owner of the The Austin American newspaper, purchased the property in 1914 because It reminded them of Lake Como in Italy where they had honeymooned.
Today, Laguna Gloria attracts many art patrons and historians as well as hosting numerous events and weddings each year. Take a trip over to 34th Street to visit one of Austin's most historic gems!
